Winnie Jeter

Winnie Jeter, 79, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Friday, August 7, 2026 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Guadalupe Mayorga officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Winnie was born July 5, 1947 in Memphis, Texas to Ralph and Gertrude Devenport. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1965. Winnie has spent most of her career in food service. She worked at Tom’s Country Inn, Stroud’s Steakhouse, Braum’s, and McDonalds.

Winnie was a longtime member St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was a very independent woman who was a set in her ways and at times, she had a temper. Winnie had a strong work ethic and always held firm in her democratic stance.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mona Devenport.

Survivors include her son, James Jeter and wife Alicia of Pampa; daughter, Carla Davis and husband Ray of Pampa; grandchildren, Heather Bell and husband Stephen of Huntsville, Brittany Omer and husband Murade of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Daniel Smith of Amarillo, Layce Boroff and husband Josh of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Kayla Parker and husband Darren of Amarillo, Allyson Terry and husband Chris of Pampa, and Julie Alonzo and husband Jimmy of Amarillo; great grandchildren, Taylor Bell, Carlee Bell, Olive Omer, Ezra Omer, Christopher Smith, Gabriella Smith, Remington Boroff, Carson Boroff, Sutton Boroff, Hazely Parker, Payton Parker, Phoenix Terry, Scarlett Terry, Carley Davis, Madison Alonzo, Natyli Alonzo, Arianna Alonzo, Alyx, and Ciana Alonzo; also her special friend, Amy Petroski as well as many other close friends.

The family would like to thank BSA Hospital and staff and BSA Hospice of the Southwest for their support and care for Winnie.
